Hey everyone this maybe the first of many posts on this subject but unlike most of the mainstream I want to focus on the man behind the mosque at Ground Zero. I am not talking about Iman Ruaf ,though he needs to be throughly examined as well, but the contractor who owns the land two blocks away from Ground Zero.
The name of the contractor is Sharif el-Gamal. He was, in 2002, a waiter at two upscale resturants in New York. Then 2003 he left and starter out as a real estate broker. Within a year though he left and started Soho Properties which he still operates and which owns the site two blocks away from the former site of the World Trade Centers. Somehow he has made his way from waiter to upscale mogul? Now do not get me wrong maybe he has done the American dream but also how can you turn around and own so much property ( five properties over 2.5 million each) on a usual waiters salary?
Speculation or questions that need anwsered? Up to you all I will look for more information on this guy and keep you all updated.

Most people don't simply start up businesses out of no where using money earned from other jobs. They get loans from banks and get other people to invest in their business. As it gets better they can get bigger loans and bigger investments. Isn't that one of the key principles of the much loved Reagen Trickle Down economics? Help the rich people, the rich people in turn will invest and help the little people?
ReplyDeleteAlso its not just a Mosque. Its a Community Center. It will have a basketball court and swimming pool, as well as other things for the COMMUNITY not just Muslims.
We should be looking into where the money came from because if this mosque is being funded indirectly by terrorists then it is a huge problem.The most pressing problem isn't where the money came from but rather why is there a mosque being built there in the fist place. The fact is that the mosque, and I do say mosque because it will be able to house 1000 worshippers, is located in an industrial neighborhood, that is to say that there are no people living there. Why is it necessary to have mosque/community center in an area where there are no people living? Well, if you look at it from a radical islamist perspective (which the Imam who is behind the project is) then this mosque can be viewed as a monument to the destruction of one of America's most prominent structures and symbols of our way of life. The title for the mosque project was formerly called "Cordoba House", which if you know your history is the name of a famous mosque located in Spain. The original Cordoba was built on the remains of a cathedral when the region was conquered by an invading Muslim army. It isn't a stretch to say that there can be parallels drawn between this "Cordoba House" and the original Cordoba in Spain. I am by no means saying that Muslims as a whole are trying to invade and conquer America, but maybe, just maybe, a small group of extremists are.

He is considered a moderate and has been considered a moderate by both the Obama and Bush administrations, the government having used him for outreach to the Muslim world. He made a poor choice of words on a single 60 Minute Interview, and suddenly every conservative considers him an enemy of the state.
As for who is helping fund this project, I'll help you. Look up Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal, hes helping fund this Park51 project. Hes also the second largest share holder of News Corporation, the owner Corporation of Fox News. By your own logic, if the funders of something are terrorists, and thus make whatever they fund terrorists by assosiation, I guess Fox News is a bastion of Islamic Terror.
